Musicians for June Wedding

I wonder if you would be able to help me out.  My daughter is getting married on 6/24/2023 at the State capitol.  In between defending her dissertation and planning a move, wedding, the music for the actual ceremony got dropped.

Do you happen to know if you or any of your students would be available?  The state capitol limits the type of instruments (no amps).  We would like for someone to play during the prelude, and processional.  It’s a small affair between 20-25 guests.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.  We are not local to the area and do not know many people in Wisconsin.

Local Band Seeking New Bassist and Drummer

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have been in a seven member band for several years.   We lost two of our band members.    We are seeking to replace them with talented musicians.   I was instructed to answer the following questions:

  1. Your name and the name of your organization or employer.

We are going to create a new name for the band.

  1. A description of the gig or job.

We are seeking a drummer and bass player for occasional seasonal gigs primarily in the general Madison WI area.   These gigs are generally fundraising opportunities for local charities.  We play classic hits from pop, rock, country, and soul.

  1. Date, place, and time (s) of the gig.

The one specific date we intend to play is a wedding on September 2, 2023 in Fitchburg.   Generally, we will play shows from May through October.  Estimate of 4-5 shows.

  1. Paid or volunteer terms

Pay is commensurate with experience and is negotiable.

  1. Your contact information.

Gary Gorman (see below)

Best is my cell at 608-444-6108

  1. Any other pertinent or helpful information.

We are essentially looking for a rhythm section to support two vocalists.   We are open to additional vocalists for lead or harmony.   If a musician can also play violin, that would be a great add.

Wisconsin Singers auditioning new musicians

Hello,

My name is Kelsey Yudice and I am the Program Coordinator for Wisconsin Singers, a nationally renowned band and performing group here at UW-Madison that has been touring to schools and communities around the state and nation for the last 55 years.

We are currently auditioning instrumentalists to join our band for next year. The Wisconsin Singers band is an essential part of the magic of a Wisconsin Singers show and performs for thousands of people each year. We are looking for students of any major who play keys/synth, drums, horns (saxes, trumpet, and trombone), bass, and electric guitar to join our band for the 2023-2024 season.

I wanted to reach out and see if you would be willing to share the information in this email with your students. Auditions are May 14, 20, and 21, 2023. If students are unable to attend the in-person auditions, they are also able to audition online. To sign up for an audition time, students can submit the audition information form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4tbgaOZq_-fqUqSoPbwah_f5GabTgk7MUsAacdA65pDYOig/viewform or receive more information by emailing getinvolved@wisconsinsingers.com.

Students in the band gain valuable experience by performing with a professional-level touring company in a variety of venues all across Wisconsin. Each member of the band has the opportunity to showcase and challenge their musical talents by playing a wide repertoire that includes jazz, pop, rock, funk, and musical theatre. Thank you for your help and please let me know if you have any questions or require any more information!

Violinist or Harpist for senior living performance

My wife, Katherine Keranen, is the Activities Director at Cedarhurst – Verona.  She is wondering if a student violinist, harpist, or both might be willing play for one hour, at 2 PM on Saturday, May 6th for a Ladies Tea Event? Most likely it would be a community service (gratis) event.

I know this would be appreciated, and give the students a chance to showcase their talents, and really do a nice thing for the community.

If that instrumentation, or something similar is available, please call or email Katherine Keranen, at 218.343.1208  or kdkkeranen@gmail.com
