Choral Arts Society Chorale of Madison seeks Artistic Director

Direct an amateur community choir of 25 – 40 singers in weekly rehearsals, develop program themes, select concert music, work with the Choral Arts Society board to promote the choir and recruit singers. Direct two concerts per semester: 1 free performance at an area senior residential community, followed by a paid concert in a local venue.

The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings (14 weeks per semester) at Immanuel Lutheran Church on the near East Side of Madison.
Fall rehearsals begin in September to prepare for concerts in early December
Spring rehearsals begin in January and culminate in spring concerts in May

This is a paid position.

Knowledge of vocal music, singing technique, and choral repertoire both sacred and secular; music conducting experience; desire to help a group of amateur singers of all ages perform to their best ability while also having some fun.

At this time, we plan to hold auditions for interested applicants in early August.
