Violin/Viola/Strings Teacher (last updated 6/19/17)
Position to begin in September 2017.

The primary duties of a Strings Teacher at Academy of Sound are to prepare for and teach private violin, viola, and possibly cello lessons to students ages 4 through adult.

Individuals interested in this position should:
NOT REQUIRED, but is a plus if you are Suzuki certified. Degree in music education or performance is preferred.
Have reliable transportation, and zero to few potential conflicts with our teaching schedule
Be comfortable working with kids and adults in a private lesson setting — passing of a background check is required
Have experience teaching very young beginners, as young as age 4, as well as intermediate and advanced students of all ages
Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available 5-12 hours per week.

The primary duties of a Drum Teacher at Academy of Sound are to prepare for and teach private drum/percussion lessons to students ages 7 through adult.

Individuals interested in this position should:
NOT REQUIRED, but is a plus if you have a degree in music performance, music education, or similar, OR be a music major currently — undergrad is fine
Have excellent knowledge of a variety of Drum Methods (Alfred’s Beginning Drum Set Method, in particular)
Have reliable transportation, and zero to few potential conflicts with our teaching schedule
Be comfortable working with kids and adults in a private lesson setting — passing of a background check is required
Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available 3-10 hours per week.

Have excellent knowledge of the Piano Adventures, My First Piano Adventure, and Alfred methods
Have reliable transportation, and zero to few potential conflicts with our teaching schedule
Be comfortable working with kids and adults in a private lesson setting — passing of a background check is required
Have experience teaching very young beginners — as young as age 4
Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available 5-15 hours per week.
