We are looking for a string quartet to play during our wedding ceremony on August 8, 2015. The ceremony begins at 4 PM, but we would like a little music beforehand as well while the guests are being seated. The wedding is at The Barn at Trinity Peak, a wedding venue that’s a restored barn in Oconomowoc, WI. Since this is a over an hour away, we’d need a group that can provide their own transportation. Interested groups can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’m not really sure what the going rate is for string quartets, so any advice you have there before this gig is posted would be appreciated! I think the whole gig would be about an hour long. I also don’t know exactly which songs yet – I know there would be some pre-service music, a processional for the wedding party, a few hymns, and some closing music. I’m hoping we can meet with the musicians ahead of time to hear them and see if they have any suggestions or advice about which pieces to play. The ceremony will also be outdoors – I’m not sure if a string quartet would need a sound system or not, so any advice on that would be appreciated too!
