Wisconsin 4-H Showcase Singers Director
Applications are currently being sought for Director of the 2015 Wisconsin 4-H Showcase Singers.
Since its inception in 1987, Showcase members and their directors have created a show that includes singing and dancing to a broad array of classic favorites and contemporary music. During show production and performance, Showcase members grow their artistic and leadership skills in real-world applications at the 4-H and Youth Conference, local county fairs and at the Wisconsin State Fair.
Qualifications: Proven skills and leadership in directing and producing “show choir” performances with high school-age young people.
General Responsibilities: The Wisconsin 4-H Showcase Singers Director works under the direction of the 4-H Communication Arts Specialist and:
- Works cooperatively with other State 4-H Arts Team directors
- Provides leadership to Showcase Singers and promotes youth development
- Produces and directs a 45-50 minute “show choir” performance with 25-30 high school-age 4-H members from throughout Wisconsin
- Provides over-all direction for the instrumental, vocal and choreographed elements of the performance including music selection and script
April 17-18, 2015 Rehearsal Weekend, Upham Woods, Wisconsin Dells
June 17-25, 2015 Rehearsals and Performance (30 minutes) at Youth Conference, Madison
August, 2015 Wisconsin State Fair Performances (exact dates TBA)
Honorarium: An honorarium in the range of $3,000-$3,500 will be paid for services depending on qualifications and experience. Additional honorariums for production assistants (choreographer, technician, etc.) might also be considered.
