This position serves as facility coordinator for an extremely large, busy, visible, and dynamic School of Music (SOM). This position manages the two facilities at SOM which are used for more than 350 concerts and recitals, 200+ courses, and 3,000 hours of practice room rental per year. Job Duties:   Successfully and accurately coordinate facility scheduling for all facilities assigned to the SOM.  Continually maintain operations of School of Music Facilities.  Ensure successful performances through oversight and facilitation of all concert and stage management.  Accurately manage rental and rehearsal operations.  Manage SOM’s surplus property program efficiently.  Accurately manage various administrative issues related to area.  For a complete position description, go to: http://www.ohr.wisc.edu/WebListing/Classified/PDDetail.aspx?vacid=83973&title=18500

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Intimate knowledge of music, musical performance and the operations of a performing arts center.  Knowledge of standard performance etiquette and the ability to anticipate conductors’ and performers’ needs for each performance required.  Knowledge of standard band and orchestra stage set-up methods and configurations required.  Knowledge of basic theatrical lighting systems preferred.  Music appreciation and background strongly preferred.  Experience with basic sound amplification equipment required.  Ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise required.  Ability to use excellent organizational skills and effective oral and written communication techniques required.  Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, and to prioritize on a continuous basis.  Ability to direct work of multiple student employees required. Ability to work successfully with diverse personalities and mindsets essential.  Frequent evening and weekend work required to accomplish the mission of the SOM.  Great flexibility in work schedule required.
