A conference at the Wisconsin Union is looking for musicians. Details below; contact Jill Schmitz if you are interested.
–Time (beginning and ending) of gig; Thursday, May 24; 6p-9p
–Do you want a “program” of entertainment, or background music; Background music
–Will there be a tuned grand piano available (that helps determine voices and instruments); Yes
–Do you want classical music or pop; More along the lines of either jazz or a softer pop. Organizer was leaning away from just string instruments
–Do you have a preference for voices and/or instruments; if instruments, which ones; and the number of musicians you’re looking for; 3-4 piece band. No singing needed.
–What range of compensation are you foreseeing being able to offer (this can be negotiable, depending in part on the above); Budgeted is $1,000 max
–What’s the demographic of the audience? If the age range is wide, or narrow, that could influence the music. Graduate students – full professors. Domestic and International.
