The Music Department is seeking a professor of voice appointed at the level of assistant professor, tenure-track. The candidate will provide leadership in all aspects of the Vocal Program including Opera Theatre presentations, and teach undergraduate and graduate applied voice. As load allows, the candidate could teach other related courses such as vocal pedagogy, diction, song and opera literature. The candidate will actively recruit for the Music Department at the undergraduate and graduate levels; advise voice majors; supervise master’s level research; work collaboratively with all faculty in recruitment of new students; be active in research/creative activity and service for the department and university; and participate in a full-range of faculty governance activities within the University and Department of Music.
• Earned Master’s Degree in Voice or Opera or equivalent degree.
• Documented record of a minimum of two years of successful university-level voice teaching and opera directing.
• Evidence of experience as a professional vocalist of the highest artistic caliber.
