Faculty Search: Jazz Studies

The University of Wisconsin-Madison anticipates a full-time (tenure-track) position as Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies, beginning August 2012. Responsibilities include oversight and administration of all UW-Madison jazz offerings; directing one or more ensembles; and teaching courses in jazz composition/arranging. Additional duties may include courses in jazz history/literature and improvisation. Conduct scholarly performance, university and community service as appropriate for a tenure-track appointment. Other duties as assigned by the Director of the School.


Bachelor degree required. Graduate degree, or equivalent professional experience, is required. Proven ability as artist/performer is required; college teaching experience desirable. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
